The Engineering Department Oversees Capital Improvement Projects Related To Transportation, Water, Sanitary Sewer, Storm Sewer, And Pedestrian Facilities; Reviews And Permits Private Commercial, Industrial, And Residential Development; Enforces The Stormwater Program For The Town; Maintains The Town’s Records And Mapping; And Supports Other Departments With Engineering And Project Management Expertise. The Town Of Harrisburg Currently Has An Employment Opportunity In Our Engineering Department For Project Manager. An Employee In This Class Performs Paraprofessional Engineering Work And Manages Capital Projects, Oversees Town Consultant And Contractor Agreements, Conducts Plan Review, Site Inspection, And Construction Industry Relations In Adherence With Town Engineering Standards And Codes To Ensure Efficient And Effective Construction Quality Of Town Infrastructure. Work Involves Reviewing Engineering Design, Organizing And Managing Capital Projects, Assisting In The Administration Of The Towns Phase II Stormwater Permit, Specifically The Construction Practices Of Erosion And Sediment Control. Proficiency With The Use Of CAD And GIS Technologies A Plus. Work Requires Strong Technical And Interpersonal Skills, Ability To Plan And Organize Work On Multiple Simultaneous Projects, Strong Collaborative Conflict Resolution Skills, And Knowledge Of Civil Engineering Principles And Practices. Work May Subject The Employee To Environmental Conditions Including Working In Both Inside And Some Outside Environments, Extreme Temperatures, And Construction Noise And Hazards. Work Is Performed Under The General Supervision Of The Town Engineer And Is Evaluated Through Conferences And Review Of Records For Quality Of Overall Construction In The Town, Relationship With Development Community, And For Acceptance Of The General Community.
